Around this time of year our family starts eating a lot of turkey for dinner. I think we end up enjoying a Thanksgiving-style dinner every few weeks. We make a big turkey or turkey breast with different sides like stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, biscuits, or whatever we’re in the mood for that week. While we have days worth of leftovers to enjoy, we also save the turkey carcass to make delicious homemade turkey soup. I’ve found a great copper bottom stainless stockpot that has plenty of room in it to make plenty of soup for the whole family. It’s a great looking pot made of professional grade stainless steel, so I know it’s durable and will last me for many years. At 8 quarts, it’s a perfect size for our family, and I decided to get the copper bottom for its excellent heat conductivity. And with periodic polishing I know this pot will remain looking as brilliantly shiny as new. Anyone who likes making homemade stock and soups would be wise to invest in a quality stainless stockpot.
