Now that the weather is getting warmer I know I’ll be trying to make more meals that don’t involved turning the oven on as often. Though even when I do still decide to use the oven I just crank up the ceiling fan to keep cooler and then we eat outside on the deck in the fresh air. One of my year-round favorite meals usually involves pasta. What’s wonderful about pasta is that you can enjoy it hot under your meatballs and sauce or as a cool pasta salad mixed with seasoned chicken and crunchy celery pieces. Replacing bottled water with either a under the sink or a countertop water filtration system is a really good idea in this economy. The cost of bottled water can easily exceed $3.00 a gallon. Plus, the contribution to our landfills isn’t the same  value as making a charity contribution. Then there is the quality of bottled versus filtered right at your tap. That bottled water that has the chlorine taken out may have been sitting on a shelf for a while. Can’t be that great. Read the rest of this entry »

I think we all need a little cheering up this spring, what with all the current economic forecasts. These happy silver dolphin earrings ought to be a part of everybody’s accessorizing. Maybe that’s just me, but I love anything to do with the ocean, and especially anything that has to do with sea mammals. Well, I guess I may as well fess up and take it a step further; I’m crazy about dolphins. Yes, I’ve participated in several dolphin encounters, collect photos of them, read about them and of course have both sterling silver and gold dolphin jewelry.
