What are whole house filters? Simply put, they are filters connected at the water intake coming into your house. These filters work great for a number of reasons. Having all of the water filtered assures you of getting filtered water everywhere in the home. That means your dishwasher, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, everywhere are filtered! Chlorine is used as a disinfectant with municipal water supplies. That means that your laundry is getting an extra dose! Hard on the “darks colors” good for the “light colors.” Read the rest of this entry »

You know that silver cat pendants come in all shapes, sizes and breeds. Some of the cutest I’ve seen are carried on a site that has quite a few extremely attractive examples. They even have larger pendants that have a pin on the back and be worn as a brooch. If you are like me, a real sucker for adorable jewelry, then you must take a look at this site! My favorite might be the fat cat pendants, but all of them are appealing and I’d wear every one if I could afford them all. If you’re looking at starting or adding onto your outdoor bonsai collection and you’re looking for a tree with outstanding cold hardiness, look no further than the Mugho Pine Bonsai. It’s an awesome juxtaposition of something very common and something very rare. As a slow and low growing member of the species Pinus, the Mugho pine is a familiar sight in any and every garden center from sea to shining sea. And with its short needles, slow growth and outstanding level of cold tolerance it’s a great bonsai tree to own when you need your trees to live through the winter – definitely a preferred trait.
One of the most frequently found is the Dwarf Swiss Mountain Pine. It’s hardy from climate zone 9, through to and including zone 2. So, a tree that will live in St. Augustine, Florida will also survive the winter in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. It makes for one less bonsai you have to be truly concerned about when the cold sets in. Of the many remarkable pine bonsai trees that belong in your collection this little tree has a lot going for it. AS a bonsai collector, or simply an avid gardener, you’ll enjoy displaying this bonsai.
